A Historical Synopsis
The Brooklyn District Grand Jurisdiction was organized in 1934 in the Borough of Brooklyn in the State of New York, as Branch of the Independent United Order of Mechanics, Friendly Society.
The Brooklyn District Grand Lodge #1 was officially inaugurated on April 7, 1934, as a Branch of the IUOM, F.S., and received its Dispensation of Authority from Grand Council, then located in the United Kingdom, to operate under a Concordat of its English Constitution and as an overseas branch of the Order.
